Black Hole 04:56
Black hole… waitin' in the universe I'm holding onto to you Don't slip through my fingers like a dark star I know the night is gettin' colder babe I'm giving you my heart Don't let your weight get bigger than you babe You are what I want... You are what I want... Do you remember love? Do you remember love? Do you remember love? Matter explodes between my heart and yours Scatterin' away from us… You've let your walls get bigger than me babe But we all come from the same place So how can you think we can just separate? Oh… don't walk away from me babe You are what I want… You are what I want… Do you remember love? Do you remember love? Do you remember love? Do you remember love? Do you remember? Do you remember love? We all come from the same place, outer space, galaxies, we are made Of stardust and earth on a mission to reconnect To re-collect our energy between our destiny As individuals and as a society 'Cause we're the ones to decide on what we want it to be To continually get up and embrace every single opportunity to love: The common denominator that we all struggle with Loving ourselves, loving someone else, finding our worth Finding some truth about how it all works And to trust that sometimes that means letting it go Surrender control, to what we don't know But love, I still hold the hope for the light that you hold You are what I want… You are what I want… Hey… Do you remember love? Do you remember love? Do you remember love? Do you remember love? Do you remember? Do you remember love? Do you remember love? (do… you…) Do you remember love? (do… you… remember?) Do you remember love? (do… you…) Do you remember love? (do… you… remember?) Do you remember love? (do… you…)

Canopy 03:51
She is bright beyond her eye's capacity to believe That what she sees is what it seems to be She has left to wander land beyond time and space To find her place amongst the galaxies There's so much beyond the canopy of the night… Brave enough to fly towards the light, she said: "Where has love taken me?" Open up your eyes. The stars come out one by one, illuminating cells inside her body The cells she failed to know would set her free She sails past the atmosphere, layers that he held her back Are now just a dimension on that arc of space and time There's so much beyond the canopy of the night… Brave enough to fly towards the light, she said: "Where has love taken me?" "Where has love taken me?" she said... Open up your eyes. As long as there have been humans We have searched for our place in the cosmos Where are we? Who are we? We have lingered long enough from the shores of the cosmic oceans We are ready at last, to set sail for the stars There's so much beyond the canopy of the night… Brave enough to fly towards the light, she said: "Where has love taken me?" (where is love?) "Where has love taken me?" she said (where is love?) "Where has love taken me?" Open up your eyes.

I've been watching the light, let it spin me around Pieces, of me scattered, nothin’ touchin’ the ground Through a tunnel of night, all I hear is the sound… Of voices, in my head, tryin’ to knock me down Centre of the storm, fill my body with flame… One breath, I become an unstoppable hurricane I don't need your desire, I don't need all your shame! My Fire burns so hot, nothin’ ever remains. Do you remember, all this time that I’ve been lost? All this time that I’ve been lost? All this time that I’ve been lost? Do you remember, all this time that I’ve been lost? All this time that I’ve been lost? All this time that I’ve been lost? Give me back my gravity Hey yeah…. I’ve been all wrapped up inside with my mind running ‘round in Jupiter’s storm Tryin’ to find my way back down to hear my heartbeat I've been swept out to the side and defined by the winds that keep me in line Tryin’ to hide my heartbeat from this mass destruction Do you remember, all this time that I’ve been lost? All this time that I’ve been lost? All this time that I’ve been lost? Do you remember, all this time that I’ve been lost? All this time that I’ve been lost? All this time that I’ve been lost? Give me back my galaxy

Let me out of this escaping I am frozen in time I wish I could touch the stars that would destroy me Bring it back bring it back bring it back now Bring it back bring it back bring it back now Bring it back bring it back There comes a risk with exploration Bring it back bring it back bring it back now Bring it back bring it back bring it back now There comes a risk with exploration Bring it back bring it back bring it back now Bring it back bring it back bring it back now Bring it back bring it back bring it back now Bring it back bring it back I’ve been driving well before I crawled A friend told me to stay between the lines and we listened to free falling Now I’m suspended in the air Waiting for gravity Nothing to stop me from falling So I can just fall free If you don’t have anywhere to fall You don’t have anything to land on You don’t have anything to fear Let yourself suspend in open air Let yourself breathe Breathe… Breathe… Ooooh… And if love escapes your heart then you have fallen with grace Let yourself out of those cages that you travel in And if the sun burns you on your skin At least you have died with freedom within

Constellations light up the sky All the stars are out tonight We remember to name most of them But we’re lost, don't know where we came from Oooh... Oooh... Constellations are ghosts of the past Bringing truth to those of us looking For a view into our history So we gaze deep into the night Reflections of stories we wrote to define Who we are before falling asleep Who we are after time sets us free Oooh... Oooh... I wanna go where the sun touches the night Millions of miles between space and time I wanna know how it feels to be that bright Where the wishes all come alive I wanna go there, I wanna feel it I wanna know what they're talking about I wanna be part of it Oooh... Oooh… yeah… Oooh… hey… Oooh... I wanna go where the sun touches the night Millions of miles between space and time I wanna know how it feels to be that bright

Butterflies fly beyond the horizon line Taking a risk with their delicate wings Paper-like eyes painted on the backside Blending the colours like a nebula sky What other life exists beyond the universe? Is there an area and a perimeter? Is there an area and a perimeter? Still with the night, fireworks in the daytime Transforming their spark, from dust to light, dust again They can defy, human laws of gravity And our cells are the same What other life exists beyond the universe? Is there an area and a perimeter? Is there an area and a perimeter? Is there an area and a perimeter? How do we get beyond ourselves? How do we see beyond the universe? We must be willing to gather our strength We must be willing to do it all again To do it all again To do it all again The only way to break the cycle is to stay inside The only way to break the cycle is to stay inside The only way to break the cycle is to stay inside The only way to break the cycle is to stay inside it The only way to break the cycle is to stay inside The only way to break the cycle is to stay inside The only way to break the cycle is to stay inside

Nebula 06:04
I believe that we all need to break apart so we can see the light And unless we fall towards the ground, how do we take flight? You have to be brave sometimes and take the leap even if you don’t see it Cause loneliness is the bravest thing we can be… no one can save us It's inside this lonely Nebula where the stars are born Where we find our strength and we break through our cycles It's inside this lonely Nebula where the stars are born Where we find our strength and we break through our cycles To start again (to start again) To start again (to start again) To start again (to start again) We break through our cycles To start again (to start again) To start again (to start again) To start again (to start again) We break through our cycles The emptiness sits inside of you at this Intersection Cause we all have our own planets and moons… properties and dimensions Layers peel and we reappear, knowing bit by bit what's real… we feel it And explosions never promised anything but life, death, and redemption It's inside this lonely Nebula where the stars are born Where we find our strength and we break through our cycles It's inside this lonely Nebula where the stars are born Where we find our strength and we break through our cycles To start again (to start again) To start again (to start again) To start again (to start again) We break through our cycles To start again (to start again) To start again (to start again) To start again (to start again) We break through our cycles Ooooh… Break open Ahhh… Break open Ahhh… Ooooh… Break open Let go… Let go… break open

about

This album was born out of a love of space, wonder and self-discovery… and expanded into a gift of confidence.

Several years ago I was fascinated by the idea of creating an alter-ego (inspired by my brilliant artist friend Miriam Waks). I thought maybe if I had a character to draw from, I would feel more confident on stage, that somehow having a "shield" would take myself away from the spotlight and I could be freer in my delivery of what I wanted to give with my music.

I found Eos, the Goddess of Dawn. She represented this wise, graceful and powerful woman that gave me the strength to say what was truly in my heart… to know that my rejections weren’t personal… to believe that I was worthy of something great... and that I was safe to stop playing small. I started journaling as her, talking to myself with her voice, and imagining how I would sound as her. But wait… this “external voice” was actually me, was it not?

The tone, the strength, the grace I felt as her, was really just a version of me that I had disconnected from in my perspective of myself. And so The EOS Project was really this "becoming" and acknowledging a wise, graceful and beautiful part of myself that I was banned from knowing through formative experiences and messages. Ultimately, it was an embracing of not being ashamed of the wisdom and beauty I possess.

The songs are a collaboration of this voice and the rich metaphor of space (black holes and nebulas kind of space). The journey is one of exploring, questioning and breaking through our personal universe (our conditioning, our limitations and our patterns) and how we are both alone and connected to one another through it all. I hope the listener will takeaway a message of courage and determination to be who they feel they were born to be.

There’s some fun stuff in here like “find the Carl Sagan clips” and I think this album would be a real trip to listen to like old school times, in the dark, from front to back… eyes closed with headphones. But perhaps the thing I want to share the most is the message. One of my favourite lyrics is in Freedom Within:

…and if love escapes your heart then you have fallen with grace
Let yourself out of those cages that you travel in
and if the sun burns you on your skin
at least you have died with freedom within…

For me, that encapsulates the whole message of the album: to be unapologetically ourselves, because if we do not give ourselves completely to this life, we die with chains around us. We never fully experience ourselves. (Well, at least we can strive for this intention to be free from the shackles of our mind.) I love this image of someone taking off their space suit and bursting into flames. The metaphor of death and transformation is often present in my writing because I believe if we are constantly choosing life, then we are constantly dying... losing ourselves and finding ourselves... constantly "becoming" through this cycle. Eos is my symbol of strength to move through those passages with strength and faith that there is always light at the end of every dark night.

This album would not be what it is if it were not for my dear friend Paul Cimolini (Atlas Collapses/The Eggmen). Over the last few years, we shared the process of putting this together, recording, producing and challenging each other’s ideas… building choruses of 70 voices between the two of us and sharing ideas that led to other great ideas. It was a lot of fun and a true collaboration. I am so grateful to him and his talents. My other dear friend Booth White (Open, Parachute!/Shifted) added some badass percussion details. I was also fortunate to have Will Borza (Gary Clark Jr./Foster the People/Big Sugar) do the final mastering. It shines brightly because of all these beautiful talents and I am beyond grateful to have the fortune of manifesting my artistic vision in this way.

I want to thank you in advance for the gift of your ears, for taking the time to read about and listen to this project. Your support means the world, and I truly hope these songs reach you and speak to something deep inside you, the way they have for me.
